To access the Journal Entry Template, navigate to:

Home > Accounting > General Ledger > Journal Entry Template

1. How to Create and Use a Journal Entry Template:

  1. Visit the Journal Entry Template List and click on New.
  2. Include the following details:
  3. Template Title: Utilized for selecting the template from the Journal Entry.
  4. Company: The company defined in Global Defaults is chosen by default, but you can select any other company.
  5. Entry Type: Choose from the available entry types in Journal Entry. The default value is Journal Entry. Three special 'Entry Types' include:
  6. Opening Entry: Retrieves all accounts and loads them into the "Accounting Entries" table. Refer to the Opening Balance page for more details.
  7. Bank Entry: Fetches and loads the default Bank Account if set.
  8. Cash Entry: Fetches and loads the default Cash Account if set.
  9. Is Opening: This is automatically set to 'Yes' if 'Opening Entry' is selected as the Entry Type.
  10. Series: Select from a list of naming series available for Journal Entry.
  11. Accounting Entries: Choose a list of accounts to add to the entry.
  12. Save and go to Journal Entry, then click on New.
  13. In the 'From Template' field, selecting the template loads the accounts and other options set in it. Note that it clears the Accounting Entries table initially, but you can add more accounts to the table, in addition to those fetched from the template.
